Filthy Fifty

  • 50 Box jumps
  • 50 Pull-ups
  • 50 Kettlebell swings (boys: 32kg; girls: 24kg) –
  • 50 Walking lunges
  • 50 Toes-to-bar – I did normal sit ups on an incline
  • 50 Push press (boys: 115 lbs; girls: 75 lbs) - I used 30 lbs
  • 50 GHD hip extensions
  • 50 Thrusters (boys: 75 lbs; girls: 55 lbs) - I used 35 lbs
  • 50 Burpees
  • 50 Double unders – these were normal

This was my workout this evening; followed by 30 minutes on the bike and chatting on an incline for a bit.

It’s a Cross Fit workout which when I initially looked at the list, thought ehhh I can totally do that, no problem…maybe even twice. WRONG. I believe we completed it in 28ish minutes and there was noooo way that I could even think about lunging, thrusting or burpeeing again.  GAH It was so hard! They were all pretty tedious but the burpees….the burpees had to be the worst. By the end of my workout, the last one felt like the 100th.

You’d think that this workout would put me right to sleep and on any other night it might but tonight I’m on a high. Tonight, I had an aaamazing conversation with someone I look up to and find so incredibly inspiring that I’m still stunned she took the time to chat with me. I took a leap of faith and reached out to someone in an effort to get some advice, mentorship and guidance. She had some great things to say and it made me realize that I want to follow my dreams, put myself out there and work hard for what I want.

Conversations like this make me so excited about life and what I’m meant to do in mine.

Follow your dreams.

Life is too short to not do what you love. <3
