Family Menu plan for October 5-9

Posted Oct 02 2009 10:00pm

P9030005 Its starting to get cold around here! Its 31 degrees outside. I had to dust off my treadmill the other morning because it was too cold and wet for me to run outside. I just wasn’t ready for it.  On an awesome note … I got 100% on my last organic chemistry test! I’m so excited about it, I couldn’t hold it in any longer.  Things are really starting to quiet down for me. Now that I’m getting used to my routine, I’m feeling much less overwhelmed.  So, now I’m also getting ready for the GRE. That I have scheduled for Nov. 24th.  I think I’ll have to try some new vocabulary in my blog posts.  We’ll all become smarter together!

Anyway, this will be an exciting week!  The best way to ensure your family is going to eat well, is to be prepared! Even making things in bulk where needed.  So, thinking ahead:  Its Friday, so I’m going to need to

  • Grow some alfalfa seedstoday, to have them ready for my veggie wraps on Tuesday.
  • Sunday, I will cook up a big pot of rice to be used for Wed. dinner, Thursday’s lunch, AND Friday’s dinner. (LOTS OF RICE)
  • Saturday I will blend up some low fat sour cream with ranch seasoning for Tuesday’s snacking (and any other days we feel like it)
  • Saturday I will also cut up some carrots, celery, and broccoli for snacking.
  • Although I have bread on my shopping list, I will actually be making the bread on Saturday (probably 4 loaves).
  • Whenever I have some time (probably Monday ), I’ll puree some more almonds for the nut butter we need on Thursday and Friday.

Well, I gotta get this day going.  Eliece and I are headed off for some hiking this morning, followed by lunch at a vegan/ raw food restaurant.  A place my husband would NEVER venture in with me.  His response was, “ I’ll take you to a raw food restaurant.. Its called a GARDEN!!”  For an update on that, I’ll probably post it tonight on my other blog: www.mom.superhealthykids.com

Also, don’t forget, a printable version of next weeks menu and shopping list is on my side bar!
