Excess Facial Hair, Laser Hair Removal and Spa Treatments with Trueskin Medispa

Spa treatments 1

It’s my birthday next weekend and for fun I asked my Facebook and Twitter followers what they would treat themselves to if they had some cash and a lovely occasion to spend it. Unsurprisingly, a spa day or some kind of spa treatment was a very popular choice!

I love beauty treatments and I’ve been lucky enough to visit a couple of spas over the last few years. I always love how relaxing a good massage can be! Recently I’ve been more interested in some specific treatments, especially laser hair removal. It’s not a huge issue for me, but after my hormonal imbalances I do have some facial hair that I would like to get sorted. Facial hair isn’t that uncommon, but in women with Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) or other hormonal issues, sometimes linked to the contraceptive pill, it can be a bit excessive which in turn can knock confidence. When excess facial hair is a result of too many androgens (usually associated with male hormones) as part of PCOS, it can sometimes be helped with dietary changes and herbal remedies. Of course other forms of hair removal can be used, but personally I haven’t had great results having it waxed or using at home treatments. Even people like have been open about getting laser hair removal when those options haven’t worked or been appropriate for their case.

have some great information on including the differences between laser and IPL treatments. are also useful and thankfully it looks like my pale skin and dark hair would work well with laser treatment. Trueskin Medispa offer a free consultation and patch test which seems like a good way to get more information before you choose to go for that option.

It’s definitely something I’m considering looking into after I’ve given birth and after breast feeding when my hormones will hopefully normalise.

In addition to laser hair removal, Trueskin Medispa also offer free skin consultations , microdermabrasion , manicures and pedicures , massage and Elemis face and body treatments and spa packages . Their blog is also a great source of interesting information and articles on beauty.

Now I really fancy a massage!

Trueskin Medispa has locations in London’s Harley Street, Bluewater Shopping Centre and Esher in Surrey. I wish they had a spa a little closer to be or I’d be there!

Have you had any issues with excess hair? Have you ever tried laser hair removal?
