ELR Holiday Gift Guide 2012

Posted Dec 03 2012 5:59am

Tis the season!

I’m so excited to bring you the ELR Holiday Gift Guide, full of great handpicked gift ideas that I love.

I wish you all much joy this Christmas season!

FashionABLE scarves. I have two, love them, and receive compliments on them whenever I wear them. I’ve talked a little about FashionABLE on the blog before, but if you’re new or missed the memo, FashionABLE is committed to creating sustainable business for women in Ethiopa. Women who have escaped the horrors of the sex trade or prostitution. Women who, through your purchase of a scarf, now have the means to provide for their families. Women who have been given a second chance. Don’t we all need a second chance?

KettlePizza . Adam and I have one of these and it might be our favorite cooking gadget….ever. Basically, it turns your barbecue into a wood fire pizza oven. We use it ALL THE TIME and I still can’t believe how great the pizzas turn out.

Stella & Dot . Guess what? My mom is now an independent stylist. I didn’t pressure her at alllllllll. heh. Even before she joined S&D, I always loved their stuff, though. They have items in all price ranges so you can find the perfect gift for all the wonderful women in your life. Currently, I’m really loving the Bryant poppy scarf . It’s big and thick and super cute with a little elephant print.

Birchbox Home . I’ve been a Birchbox subscriber for about a year now and it’s pretty much my favorite day of the month when my little pink box arrives all pretty in the mail. They just launched the new “Home” box, which features all sorts of super cute goodies for the house. What a cool gift idea! I can’t think of a single person who wouldn’t LOVE this. I actually just ordered a box to give to a friend for Christmas, myself. I can’t wait till it gets here!

The Open Arms Shop. My friend Trina runs this fantastic nonprofit that employs local, poverty-stricken refugee women in her community. These women work to make cute skirts and scarves out of 100% recycled t-shirts. I am in looove with this gray skirt and might have to just gift it to myself this year. Right now, there’s a promo going if you purchase any two items from the store you receive the special red holiday scarf for free.

Eagles Nest Outfitters Doublenest Hammock. I can’t even tell you how much we adore our hammock. We take it on every single road trip we go on because it’s so light and portable — perfect for reading in the trees.

Coconut Robot baby booties.   If you’re a mama or a grandmama, how cute would these little knit booties be on your little munchkin?! I bought a pair a couple months ago for a friend’s new baby and they look even cuter on than in the photo, if that’s even possible. Kacia , can you make them in my size? ;)

Operation Christmas Child . Why not try something different this year and donate a Christmas box to a child in need? For only $30 you can build a complete box ONLINE by selecting items from the Samaritan’s Purse website and including a personal letter and photo with your gift. No need to even leave your house to get the materials — the whole thing is done virtually. What a wonderful idea. I just love this!

Naptime Diaries prints . I think I’ve collected about six of Jessie’s scripture prints now and I just love every one. She also designed a wonderfully cute printable Advent calendar to help you get in the spirit. Jessie is crazy talented and is also designing our Save the Date cards!
