This is a very basic tip, but still works great. Avoid all processed foods and any other products that have little nutritional value.
Don't eat raw meat and eggs as it may cause salmonella infection.
Maintain a general cleanliness in your cooking and dining area.
Once you have defrosted something, don't refreeze it again.
Avoid food that has been reheated more than once.
