Eat Pinto Beans To Lower Your Total Cholesterol And "Bad" Cholesterol

Arizona State University researchers found that eating 1/2 cup of pinto beans a day for 8 weeks significantly lowered total cholesterol and the "bad" LDL cholesterol. Eating the same amount of black-eyed peas or carrots had no effect. I suppose that’s encouraging news, but I can’t say that I like pinto beans—or any beans, for that matter—enough to eat them for eight days straight.
