Earth Day, Every Day

Posted Apr 21 2009 11:16pm

earth22 Today’s Earth Day so … Happy Earth Day!

I think we all know Mother Earth is severely challenged today.

Between global warming, over-population, pollution, deforestation and the depletion of natural resources (to name just a few), she’s got a lot on her plate.

But I believe we can all do our part to make sure we live a longer, healthier life and keep our planet as clean as possible.

Some of the simplest changes we’ve made to help reduce my personal damage to our precious Earth include:

*Using re-usable cloth bags when grocery shopping (I leave them in my car so I always have them on hand)

*Biking around to run quick errands

*Drinking Brita (or water-cooler-water at work) instead of bottled water

*Making my own Crystal Light instead of buying bottled drinks

*Recycling cardboard, plastic, newspaper, glass

*Using a programmable thermostat

*Sealing windows/doors

*Putting in energy-efficient windows

*Changing our light bulbs to be more energy-efficient

The truth is, every little thing we do CAN make a difference … so let’s make Earth Day EVERY day.

How about you? What have you done or will you do to honor our beloved planet?
