Dry Beans Inhibit Development Of Mammary Cancer

Posted Apr 03 2009 11:49pm

090204131621 I received an email from a friend, Soren Holt, a seed saver from Denmark and author of In A Toad's Garden blog.

Soren brought to my attention a recent article in Science Daily, a Web site that publishes the latest scientific research news. The article is titled Dry Beans Inhibit Development Of Mammary Cancer and it is a must-read for everyone.

This scientific study confirms that beans are good to prevent and heal cancer, or at least help supress tumor growth. It shows that beans are a great source of cancer-fighting and cancer-preventing nutrients (how many things do we know about that can inhibit the growth of mammary cancers)? Start getting your daily serving today!

Or, better yet, replace your meat or other animal protein with beans. Find that daunting? Start by eating beans twice a week in place of your animal protein (brown rice or pasta make a good complement). And don't forget your veggies.

Hmmm .... if you aren't eating beans now (or enough of them), how about a bean challenge? See my bean recipes for ideas.

Note: Small amounts and chewing well will help prevent digestive disturbances.
