5 Stars Dr Gundry is onto something here…
This book has been very informative and helpful. My wife learned of it from a friend at work. She thought we should try it. We were both in the right frame of mind and have been following it for about six weeks. I have lost about 20 pounds and she has lost about 12 pounds. We both feel great. I am diabetic and have been taking insulin for about three years. I have been able to stop the insulin and have had great lab results. I have more energy than I have had in years, energy enough to walk a few miles daily and not feel sleepy in the evening when going to the cinema, reading, or watching television. This diet is not difficult to stay on. You just have to have the right food and supplements on hand, which if you read the first couple of chapter, you will be prepared.
And, no, I don’t know Dr Gundry, and don’t have stock in his endeavors.
5 Stars FASCINATING Theory!
This doctor has a fascinating viewpoint on genetics and what we eat. It makes a lot of sense to me and as soon as my life returns to normal we are definitely going to make the dietary changes he recommends. I wish his website was more robust – but the book is fascinating. In a sentence, we can control our genetic programming by what we eat. Sound interesting? It’s of course a thesis long and much more complicated than that but that’s the takeaway.

This is an excellent book with diet principles that make sense and have really worked for me. It was highly recommended by a renown physician whom I saw at a social function when I asked him why he looked so good. I am grateful to both Dr. Gundry who wrote the book and to the doctor who recommended it. In turn I am recommending the book to friends who are now asking me how I dropped the pounds. Try it. It works!
4 Stars Dr. Gundry’s Diet Evolution
This book can be a new beginning for anyone who has tried-failed many times, over and over.
Dr. Gundry explains the good and evil of foods in general. The best part is he also explains why certain foods are causing weight issues.
Along with following the different phases of his plan, he also includes receipes.
Being an overweight diabetic,is hard enough, but to follow certain diets was harder. This new way of life is a lot easier and the food gets better the longer you stick with it!
Just got my blood results from my doctor, he was surprised to see my LDL, Blood Pressure, weight, etc. all lower and my HDL got higher And I’ve only just begun at 61!
The price I paid for this book was lower than the shipping!

3 Stars Early impressions
A freind had good results in weight and health issues so I ordered it. It book is generally plausible and will get you excited about the next “new” alternative. I find it easy to understand in terms of what to eat and not eat and to follow and live with as long as I have family support.
The book is easy to read with lots of folky wisdom and I have some conflict with it …My amcestors lived on grains and potatoes and lentils,beans and the like during rough times. Two generations ago ..into their late 90’s!
And the cemetetaries and geneology records demonstrate short life spans and poor health and immunity..
However after doing it for two weeks faithfully, I have not lost one ounce of weight (BMI about 26.5) so wonder if this is right for me. No diabetic or metabolic syndrome and there is no mention in the book of how to cope or handle twith normality only with quite sick patients and I am not clear – do you move on or keep going. Do I go to second part of Phase one where I add berries and grains?
Some of the references are dated and many are Dr. Gundry’s own work. I would like to see more science behind it. I will figure it out and will stick it and will report back here in three months.
The book is inexpensive – but poor quality paper, plain set and not at all glitzy – the upside is you don’t mind making your notes all over it.
