Don't Fear the Avocado

Posted by Heather J.

The avocado is high in fat, but most of the fat is the heart-healthy monounsaturated kind, so don’t be afraid to indulge. Aside from a key ingredient in guacamole dip, you can also add this high-fiber food to salads or use as a great side dish. You'll also get protein, a good dose of vitamins A and E, some B vitamins, lots of potassium and a bit of copper. The rich and creamy avocado has been called the "chocolate" of fruits. There’s something to celebrate!

You're right too many times we shun foods that are really healthy because we choose to look at one element instead of the overall picture.
