Doctors' Diet Advice (and More Interesting Lies)

Posted Oct 04 2009 11:10pm
Trying to eat healthily in today's world is like trying to get through an obstacle course, while at the same time, people are trying to pick us off with their weapon of choice. For how many years were we told that we had to eat less meat for optimum health? Then we found out that most of the fat in a well-marbled steak is the same as what is found in olive oil (oleic acid), and that the small amount of saturated fat in the meat actually lowers our LDL cholesterol?

Then we were told to eat less fat and take statins to lower our cholesterol. Much to our amazement, the research now shows that that path leads to an ever-rising cancer rate.

Then we were fed the lie that high cholesterol levels produce heart disease. Voila! Researchers found that people who die of heart attacks actually have lower cholesterol than those who have happy hearts.

We were warned off of saturated fats, like lard and coconut oil, only to find that the stearic and lauric acids in those foods actually reduce inflammation in the blood vessels, thereby drastically lowering our chance of having heart disease.

We were told to eat a low-fat, high-carb diet, full of "healthy" grains. Now we know better, that the obesity epidemic began at the same time that we took our seriously misinformed doctors' advice to eat that way.

Just like the politicians who derive their power from those who glom at the public trough, our doctors derive their income from those suffering from the effects of the nutritional advice that comes from our medical community. That advice is going to kill us all, and what money we have left is going to go directly into those doctors' pockets.

The bottom line: High fat, medium protein, low carb.

Do you want to lower your triglycerides? Leave thefructoseand other carbs alone.

Do you want to lower your "bad" cholesterol and raise your "good?" Eat lots of saturated fat, and cut the carbs.

Do you want to lose weight? Cut the carbs.

Do you want to starve cancer cells while lowering your risk of cancers developing? Cut the carbs.

Please understand that the Internet is full of self-styled schlubs who are free to preach on any topic that gets their knickers all in a twist. I could fall into that category, too, for all you know. The bottom line is that I havescienceon my side, andplenty of it. Do the research for yourself. You have nothing to lose but your body fat.

The Bionic Broad out.
