Do vegetables and fruits make you more hungry?

Posted by Kristen D.

I've taken to eating more veggies and fruits for snacks during the day, but I noticed today that when I ate carrots, I actually felt more hungry than full. It's not the first time that that's happen either? Any idea why?

Negative Calorie foods. Carrots are a negative calorie food. In other words it takes more calories to digest them than they have in them. The same goes for celery, broccoli, apples and lots of other foods.
Apples make me starving!. Whenever I eat apples I am famished afterward. I never noticed the effect with the other foods because I always eat them with something else (carrots and hummus, celery and pb, broccoli cooking in olive oil or with cheese...). Anyway, I love this revelation!
