Some of you have asked me if I have any dining recommendations for travelers to Marrakech, so I wanted to share a couple of my photos from the trip along with a little advice.
Try it all. Highlights for me included lamb tangia with preserved lemon (not to be confused with lamb tagine, which is also very good), Moroccan carrot salad, a grilled sardine sandwich with harissa and butter (which we found in an alley when were lost; serendipity), beef sausages with tomato chutney, chicken tagine with caramelized pumpkin (especially from Al Fassia ) and some sort of spicy date and almond dessert that I can't name but will never forget.
Please, don't be afraid of the street food - it is where we had our most memorable meals and met the most interesting people.
And lastly, you must visit Stand #10 at the Djemaa El Fna for what is truly the best lamb I've ever tasted, dished out with more love than I could handle.
