We all know that dairy products can be good for you, but it's also true that the dairy fat you find in butter, milk, and cheese is saturated'so sometimes it's necessary to switch to trans-free margarine, fat-free milk, and cheese severely reduced in fat. Another huge thing to watch is the amount of sour cream you eat, whether in burritos or on baked potatoes. That's because two tablespoons of full-fat sour cream are equal to three grams of saturated fat, i.e., 15 percent of your daily limit for ?not-so-good? fat. If you can't live without the cream, try a light or reduced fat alternative, like Cabot Vermont or Land O Lakes. Two tablespoons are only equal to about one-and-a-half grams of saturated fat, but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
