The last few recipes were very tasty, but I was getting a little tired of chickpeas. Sadly, there were 2 cups of leftover sprouted chickpeas still hanging around my kitchen, and I was not in the mood for hummus.
What to do, what to do? After some extensive "googling" there was not a single raw bread recipe, using sprouted chickpeas, to be found. Somehow, I made up my mind that given the texture of processed chickpeas, they would work in a dough, and I could create some sort of bread. Oh, trust me, after I mixed all of the ingredients and plopped them in the dehydrator, I had real doubts and was sure this would be a failure or fall apart.
I am happy to say, this is not the case. It worked! We have a really moist and delicious banana - nut bread!!! Woohoo! It was a big deal for me to branch off on my own like this without any guidelines. I am starting to wonder if the dehydrator is magic, and you can throw just about anything in the food processor, dehydrate it, and have it come out tasty??? This recipe is a mixture of the oddest ingredients and I am not sure what compelled me to mix them together, but for whatever reason...it worked. W, my expert tester, confirmed this is a "thumbs up" recipe. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to comment. And as always, folks with no dehydrator can certainly do this in an oven on the lowest setting, but keep a close eye on it.
