Has anyone else ever noticed that in all those articles about people living to be 100 or whatever, the person always says that they eat a lot of garlic.
I was really curious as to why this bad boy was a supposed super food, and it turns out that this member of the onion family has all sorts of vitamins and phytochemicals. It contains B6, vitamin C, selenium. This is one crazy superfood!
If you find that you can't stomach chewing on a clove a day - who can? It's pretty gnarly - try odorless garlic pills or simply swallowing the cloves (or ground up pieces) quickly with water.
The one thing I don't understand about garlic is why it causes gas - does anyone have any information on that? Gross, I know, but a fact of life. And if you're going to live to be 100, it's important to respect others.
Cloves too stinky? But you live forever!
