I have a wonderful new green juice recipe that you must try if you’re a crazed cinnamon fan like me. In fact, I’m such a fan of cinnamon that I have had clients laugh at me as I wax lyrical about yet another recipe with cinnamon.
I love it in avocado puddings, desserts, on baked vegetables, nut milks, smoothies, even salads. Just check out my recipes page for evidence. Now I also love it in green juice.
Sceptical of this flavour match? I was too until Rande ’s recipe convinced me otherwise. Just try it. You won’t be sorry.
Cinnamon Lime Green Juice (adapted from here )
Ingredients:
2 cucumbers
1 head cos/romaine lettuce
6 stalks silverbeet
1 small knob of ginger
2 limes
Handful of parsley
Squirt of liquid stevia
Sprinkle of cinnamon (or use a half teaspoon or more like me!)
Directions:
Juice all ingredients except the stevia and cinnamon. Add these, stir and serve. All stirred together…
Lovely at room temperature or over ice.
Juice Feasting Update
The last two days of juice feasting have been amazing. My energy is soaring, I feel euphoric, blissful, peaceful. I have barely slept, possibly one to two hours per night, and yet my energy is strong and consistent. I do however hope I get a few more hours tonight
.
This can happen with fasting. There is such a natural life force energy flow through the body as pathways and blockages are cleared and the body is free from digestion. Sleep doesn’t always feel as necessary.
You can certainly (and ideally will) sleep deeply and soundly most nights when feasting however this erratic quality is not uncommon. If you are in this situation, do not fret, simply do what you can to bring your energy to a beautiful, calm and peaceful place and rest as you need to. You might like to check out my post on getting a restful night sleep here too. I swear I do know a thing or two about this despite my current sleep situation
.
Day 3 consumption:
3L green juice (cos, silverbeet, parsley, lime, cucumber)
1L Cinnamon Lime Green Juice
1 cup of strained freshly made almond milk from a raw food cafe (not something I will include regularly but was a beautiful icy delight yesterday)
Many litres of spring water
Day 4 consumption:
1.2L Cinnamon Lime Green Juice
1.2L Mexicana Green Juice
Lots of spring water and herbal tea
Your Question: What interesting spices or flavours do you add to recipes that are surprising but wonderful together?
