Mornings are getting colder around here, which is perfect for oatmeal! We like to mix up our oatmeal toppings, and this apple cinnamon oatmeal is just what the kids ordered.
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup milk
1 cup water
1 tablespoon agave
1 apple, chopped
1 teaspoon cinnamon
In saucepan, combine oats with milk, water, agave, chopped apples and cinnamon. Heat until oats begins to boil. Reduce heat to low, and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes while continuing to stir.
Health bonus!! Leave the apple skin on! There is fiber and vital nutrients on the skin and just below the skins surface. Peeling it takes away some of these great benefits. For this oatmeal, wash the apple thoroughly and then chop it with the skin.
