Aw man!!! I tried this for the first time today, and had to rush home to write about it. This is an awesome exercise!!!!
We got "The Tire" at my health club, and no one was around, in case I made a fool of myself, so I just went for it.
It goes by various names, but I think the main name is "Tire Flipping". It's the latest craze, taking it back to "old school", hardcore training. This a great and incredible full body workout.
Our Tire is HUGE, I stand over six feet tall, and the tire is almost as tall as me. AND IT IS IS VERY HEAVY. The first time I tried to lift it, because the body was not ready for the new movements and work, I couldn't get it but six inches off the ground.
There is not much to write about this exercise, you just have to bend the knees, put your hands under the tire and use you legs and arms to lift the tire, flip it over and go at it again ASAP.
It's a brutal exercise, brutal in a sense that true workout-a-holics will love it.
The reason I loved it so much is because it is a full body workout, which I seldom get in these days, and it hits all muscles, calves, thighs, biceps, triceps, abdominals, everything at once.
At that point where you are halfway between horizontal and vertical, it is a pretty intense exercise, I'm getting dizzy, eyes feel like they wanna pop out, every muscle in the body working. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!
If you have a club that has "The Tire". Give it a try, you'll love it!!!! The only thing I recommend is learn how to lift when you are fully squatting, you don't want to hurt your back while lifting. Very few people use weightlifting belts anymore, but if you have on, that many not be a bad idea.
Now I gotta go soak in a Himalayan Salt Bath, the body is aching from that workout…..but aching in a good way, you know what I'm saying?
