BTW ...

Posted Oct 21 2008 12:20am

It’s been 3 weeks since my last BTW posting and a few odds and ends to report on:

• Back on May 3rd I began my quest to find jeans that fit. Well, it took several weeks of searching but I’m happy to announce that I found 4 new pairs that I could never dream of fitting into a few months ago. Whoo hoo!

• This past weekend I started (and finished) reading In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto, by Michael Pollan. This book is a must read. More to come on this later in the week.

• I’m thrilled to announce that beginning next month I will be a featured contributor to MindBodySanctuary, a website focused on health and well-being.

Each week I’ll be posting a synopsis of my own personal journey with a focus on my exercise and nutrition programs.

• I leave for Bologna, Italy in just over 2-weeks! I planned this trip back in September 2007, well before I began my weight-loss journey. I specifically selected Bologna because I’m a foodie and well, Bologna is a food lover’s paradise.

My goal for this trip is to come back weighing the same as when I left. I’m working on a few body-weight circuits that I’ll be able to do in my hotel room and I plan on taking some early morning runs.

In regards to my diet, I’m entering this trip with an “everything in moderation” mentality. Based on the fact that they do not process foods like we do here in the States, I’m feeling very optimistic that I’ll come out of this ok. If not, that’s ok too! If I put on a few pounds I now know I’m armed with the knowledge to take it right off.

Stay strong.

Peace.

Susan
