Broccoli Beef Stir Fry

Posted Jun 20 2010 12:00am
My mom bought me admission into a cooking class of my choice
at a nearby culinary school.
It was so fun. My sis in law and I got to hang out,
cook delicious food & eat it too!

Some recipes were healthy and I wanted to pass them along- so for the next few Sundays-
so stay tuned for What Ashley Learned in Cooking Class

Segment 2:
Broccoli Beef Stir Fry (pardon my less than par cell phone pics)

1 lb beef sirloin, sliced thin
2 tblsp soy sauce
1 tblsp cornstarch
2 tblsp rice vinegar
2 tblsp canola oil
1 tblsp minced garlic
1 tblsp minced ginger
2 tblsp oyster sauce
2 tblsp mirin
1 cup broccoli, blanched
3 water chestnuts peeled and sliced
cornstarch slurry

Combine beef with soysauce, cornstarch, and rice vinegar. Let sit 1 hour.
Heat the oil in the wok and cook the beef with the ginger and garlic for 2 minutes.
Add the oyster sauce, soy sauce, mirin and cook 1 min.
Add broccoli & chestnuts
bring all to a boil and thicken with slurry

Thank you Chef Bob Bryant!

Give it a try, how does it look to you?
