Bebe’s First Sweet Potatoes...and We Have a WINNER!

Posted Apr 02 2012 2:50pm
It’s such a great time for homemade baby food!! Everywhere people are making healthy choices for their little ones, and I love it...Keep it up everyone. Here is my very easy and basic recipe for Sweet Potatoes, which will be Bebe I’s first food! (video coming later this week). Once she does well for a couple days I’ll mix in some nutmeg and then cinnamon.

If your interested (or know someone interested) in learning more about making your own baby food, I have a class coming up: Adventures in Baby Food Making ; my hour and a half class that will teach you everything you need to know and more. (in May) Also the free mini class at Nicki’s Diapers this month was fun and I will most likely do another one this summer.

Bebe’s First Sweet Potato
Ingredients1 Medium Sweet Potato
Breast Milk or Formula (optional)

Roast a large sweet potato on a lightly oiled (to prevent sticking) pan in a 375F degree oven for about 45-55minutes. Make sure you poke a few holes in the potato with a fork or knife before roasting. Cut in to the potato to ensure it is soft inside. Allow it to cool for about 15 minutes then scoop the insides out of the skin and puree in a food processor, MUSH or in the Beaba babycook until smooth, adding breast milk or formula if needed. This recipe will fill about 2 ice cube trays. This recipe will keep up to 3 days in the fridge or 3 months in the freezer. (10-20 servings).

This recipe is Gluten-Free and Vegan.

Some of the Awesome Health Benefits
-Sweet potatoes are a great source of many of the nutrients, minerals and vitamins . It’s rich in vitamin A , B6 , C and E . They also contain an antioxidant called beta-carotene.

And without further delay....the WINNER of the MUSH, baby food maker is.... KIM. Her original comment
Kim
Loved your class today at Nikki's today! I'm totally gonna make the creamy carrots not only for baby but for the entire family as well as a cream soup! Why would I like to own the MUSH? Because my baby needs to eat and my arms need a workout! :)

Congratulations Kim, email me at bebemeals@charter.net with your mailing address so I can get your new MUSH sent to you ASAP!

Thank you everyone who entered! Look for more giveaways coming soon!

ps. The winner was chosen by a random winner generator at random.org
