2941 Restaurant paired up with my store, Chain Bridge Cellars to throw one heck of a Bastille Day Party on July 14th. It was such a successful event, that I’m almost positive we’ll do it again next year. With over 250 tickets sold, guests gathered around the restaurant to wine and dine all day while taking in the beautiful scenery outside the restaurant.
Chef Bertrand Chemel really outdid himself this time. Along with wine and beverage director, Jonathan Schuyler, they put together an absolutely beautiful and mouthwatering spread of charcuterie, salads, cheese, and grilled meats, along with a fantastic selection of French wines that showcased the foods perfectly.
There were three wine stations set up around the room; Rhone and Provence, Burgundy and Bordeaux, and Loire Valley. And as for the food there was a charcuterie station, a cheese station, a salads station, a grilled meats station, and a pastry and dessert station. Chef Bertrand put together a spread that was quite extensive:
jambon de bayonne, rosette de Lyon, terrine de canard, rillette de porc, saucisson a l’ail, pate en croute
Fromage (Cheese) Station:
tome de savoie, grotin de chevres, bleu d’Auvergne, camembert, selles sur cher, brebirousse d’Argental, Alsatian munster, St. Marcelin
Appetizers and Main Course Tasting Stations:
Plateau de fruits de mer: Seafood platter with lobster, oyster, shrimp cocktail
Salad de tomate au basilic: tomato and basil salad
