Banana Bread Oatmeal

Told you I would have oatmeal for dinner. I couldn't resist once I had the idea in my head. Its such a quick and easy dinner and way filling and satisfying too. Plus I got to use my new bowl! I made the usual oatmeal using 1/2 c of oats, vanilla soy milk, water. I also added the usuals, cap full of vanilla, honey, cinnamon, pecans, bananas and PB. I sliced half the banana and cooked it in the oatmeal and they just melted away and added volume. The other half I sliced on top.



The difference this time? I added a little bit of ground nutmeg and the whole thing came together. It tasted just like banana bread! I also remembered to use my new blue spoon from Crate and Barrel that I originally saw on Kath's blog . It was too cute not to go out and find it!



It's amazing how much more oatmeal I felt I had tonight simply because I had a smaller bowl and a smaller spoon. The spoon made me take smaller bites and therefore it took me longer to eat. I was able to notice that I was fuller sooner. Just goes to show you that presentation can play a big part in eating.



I tried to take a close up pic, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to come out. Any ideas or advice? This was the best one I could come up with :(





I think tonight's going to be an early night. I'm quite tired and so is Rob. Back to the gym tomorrow :)
