Back into the game

I hope you all enjoyed my Behind the Food Installment 1. I’m looking forward to hearing some of your favorite reads!

So today I started off my Sunday with some heart pumping cardio- my HIIT.

I did my  usual fast HIIT, because my ankle was feeling much better.

HIIT 9/27

It felt great to be back into the HIIT game… I missed the intensity of going faster and faster!
My ankle did NOT feel 100% after, however. But it did feel much better than it had felt so I’m thankful that a couple  days of rest sped up the healing process.

Can anyone guess what breakfast was?
My usual Sunday Scramble, of course!
2009_0514AJ Eggs, veggies, LCL wedge + banana. Same, ol, same ol… but it’s always delicious!

Meal #2 was also a repeat favorite-
2009_0514AK

Kashi Go Lean+Chobani+Cinnamon

I have to admit, I always feel like I’m so BORING on the blog sometimes… but sometimes, I just like to eat the same things!!! I’ll try to add some more interesting features, like my Behind the Food entries to spice it up =)

Meal 3 (lunch time) was in between some hardXcore (yes, the X was needed.) biochem studying. I have an exam on Thursday… so nervous!

So I had to have some sweets to help me get through it of course.

Ice cream!
2009_0514AM

Well not really  ice cream, but pretty darn close!!

Frozen peach + almond milk + vanilla pro powder + ice.
Mmm…. I ate it with a spoon. Best way, hands down.

After some more studying + being incredibly lazy  organizing my life, I made myself meal #4 and started prepping dinner.

2009_0515AA I love Wasa Crackers! I paired two with some turkey, kalamata olive hummus + banana peppers. Mediterranean-style delicious!

Dinner was one of my classic recipes. I don’t even use a recipe anymore, I just gather everything I need at the grocery store, throw in a bunch of spices and voila!
2009_0515AP

Spicy turkey chili, with fresh cilantro!

Meal #6 was cottage cheese + blueberry yogurt.

And now, what you’ve all been waiting for…

Unfortunately, I don’t think I made it clear you DON’T have to have a blog to enter my contest! I just wanted those with blogs to spread the word =)

So you’re all entered into the tailgating pack contest, but the Trader Joe’s giveaway is STILL UP FOR GRABS… Just leave me a comment on this post  and tell me what you wish you could try from Trader Joe’s! Again, 15 is the lucky number!

BUT I DID pick the winner of the tailgating pack contest…

Congratulations,    Chelsea!

I’d love to enter…but i don’t have a blog- however i do frequently read and love your site! My favoite healthy recipe using frito lay products is MEXICAN FRITO SALAD!

1 head lettuce in sm. pieces
1 can Ranch style beans, rinsed & drained
Chopped green onion
2 tomatoes, diced
1 c. grated low fat/reduced fat cheddar cheese
2 c. regular Fritos
1 sm. bottle light Catalina salad dressing

You can make salad ahead of time, except don’t add Fritos and dressing until just before serving. Great with Mexican food, and healthier with the use of a few lighter options!

Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Send me an email with your address at kristinrugg@gmail.com and I’ll have your kit sent to you right away!

Ok, now it’s bedtime!!

xo
