Attn Pump Customers: The Pump Not Affected By Latest Beef Recall

Posted Jun 23 2010 11:04am

Dear Friends,

As you may have heard, there has been a recall of beef in California and New York after reports of a possible E. coli bacteria contamination.

The Pump does not source its beef from either of the suspected beef distributors in question.

Our beef is sourced from Wolfe Neck Farms in Maine through our distributor DiCarlo Foods.  The beef in question is distributed and produced through Southgate Meat in California and Crown I in Bayshore, New York.

DiCarlo has a strict recall policy in place as part of their food safety and security program, so in the event that a food issue arises, The Pump is notified immediately and takes the proper precautions to ensure that all the food we serve is safe and healthy.  Food safety procedures are tested several times annually and verified through an independent auditor who inspects and approves the systems and procedures in place.

We take this very seriously and promise our customers that we do everything necessary to prevent any food safety concerns in all of our restaurants.  Luckily, the latest recall does not affect our business.

Thanks for your continued support.

~The Pump Team
