YES!!. Yes, an Israeli studied identified them with living longer, along with pomegranate juice, dark chocolate (yum!) and other "superfoods". Almonds have the "good" kind of fat, are protein dense, fiber dense and delicious. I like to eat the ones covered in DARK chocolate, so I'm getting a desert like snack and two super foods in one!!!
ps. real Dark chocolate has no milk or milk byproducts in it and is at least 70% cocoa content.
Lipoproteins. There have been studies that have shown that eating almonds increases the level of lipoproteins that are in your blood. Lipoproteins are like taxi cabs that give a ride to cholesterol from your arteries to the liver. The more taxi cabs you have available, the more cholesterol can be transported to an area where it can be dealt with more appropriately. That, my friend, is what you call a superfood!
Super as They Get. A top winner of cancer-preventing antioxidant vitamin E (24mg per 100g). An excellent source of calcium too. Another ringer is Laetrile believe to be a powerful tumor-fighting compound. Almonds are abundant in zinc, which helps to build the immune system and heal the wounds. I can keep going -- filled with monounsaturated fats, and they help lower the cholesterol levels.
Great for the skin too!
