The 1st tip when looking for a swimsuit is remember that very few people actually have perfect bodies, chances are- you are not one of them. Get over it, embrace it- and start working on looking for a suit that works for you!
So 1 piece or 2? Pick what makes you comfortable, I have always felt like the most beautiful women don't reveal it all, just keep things sexy! Lots of one piece swimsuits can flatter your legs, they show more back than stomach (which can be much more flattering for most) cleavage, etc. Work to accentuate your best body parts!
So- if you are small on top- go with a slightly padded, or under wire top that allows you to fill out the swim suit, you can also get those cute ruffle swimsuits that look adorable on women who aren't so 'busty' ;)
On the counter- if you are big on top- go for a halter that can support and tie in back, above all avoid those tiny strapless tops you will be pulling up all day and we all don't like how low those tops go on anyone, especially those who are big on top.
If you have short legs or torso, use a high cut suit to elongate your legs also, if you do a 2 piece have solid bottoms and a printed top, so the attention goes upwards and makes you look taller as well.
For Plus Size ladies, I would recommend sticking with some more slimming darker solid colors, avoid busy fabrics and get a swim suit that has the 'tummy tuck' tough fabric to help slim your body.
