Anti-Cancer Vegetables, Meat Consumption and Flax Seed Benefits

Posted Mar 17 2012 9:36am

In my never ending quest for accurate information on nutrition, fitness, diets and weight loss I spend hours scouring the web for reliable sources. Yesterday I gave you information about various sites from around the world with other countries dietary guidelines . If you haven’t done so already you should check that out. Today I have three videos from Nutritionfacts.org – the first examines the anti-cancer properties of certain vegetables, the second comments on a recent study by Harvard University finding that red meat consumption shortens your life and the third talking about the benefits of flax seed and the best ways to incorprate them in your diet.

For more videos from Nutritionfacts.org you can head over to their YouTube channel or their website .

NUTRITIONFACTS.ORG is brought to you by the Jesse & Julie Rasch Foundation in partnership with Michael Greger, M.D. Dr. Greger scours the world of nutrition-related research, as published in scientific journals, and brings that information to you in short, easy to understand video segments.  We also provide links to the original journal articles whenever possible so that you can source the information directly, if you so desire.

It’s important when evaluating any health claim to check the source and always ask yourself if they have any vested interest in a particular outcome. This is especially true for any communication coming from a food industry source or lobbying group.
