Via Lew Rockwell, I undertook to do 15 minutes of research on this. Here's the story, and below is the video. But let me point to some particular things to watch for. Even though the two council members are arguing with each other, it's fairly civil, with David Snyder, the guy on the left being pretty calm when finally ejected. He gathers his things very calmly, folds up his camera, and walks out the door with the Pig (Roseland, Indiana Town Marshal Jack Tiller) following close behind. Now, I've looked at that little bit as he goes through the door and I cannot detect the slightest indication that he has or is about to attempt to assault the Pig. But then look what happens. You catch a glimpse through the window. And oh; the Pig, while straddling the unarmed, unconscious Snyder, engages in the typical and common ruse of repeating "STOP RESISTING" as he's punching him in the side of the head.
After watching it, I was just almost certain there was something more to this. And indeed there is -- as the story reporting it indicates. But that wasn't complete, and it only got me more interested. See, I don't think it's any accident that the Pig Tiller's assault on Snyder commenced right at the moment they were (almost) out of camera shot (that was a news camera). I'm speculating, but I think Pig Tiller was just waiting for the opportunity. Then, of course, as any typical, run-of-the-mill Pig does, he charges Snyder with felony battery on an officer, which is an obvious lie. The St. Joseph County prosecutor was smart enough to drop those charges. Let's see if he's ultimately smart enough to charge the Pig with the same.
There's a lot of background, I didn't take time to go through it all, so I fully recognize I could be defending an asshole, and I probably am. But you know what? If the guy's an asshole, then deal with him like a man: out in the open, and certainly not under the bogus pretense of a uniform, badge, and trumped up felony charges. At any rate, some of the articles alluded to budgetary disputes on the council and so then I really got suspicious. Then, this:
Before the insults started flying, David Snyder, who is the town's
zoning commissioner, had been insistent that he needed an assistant so
that the "time-consuming" issues of code enforcement can be handled
"timely and consistently."
Snyder proposed dropping one of the town's four police
officers to free salary money for the zoning position he said he
believed was more important than a police officer.
Update: Billy Beck rings in with this link, telling me to watch the videos, and particularly the reflection of the action in the window (that would be the window on the wall to the right, just as the Pig begins to shove Snyder). Now, after integrating that, watch the last of the videos, "Ted Penn's reaction," and tell me he's not the biggest fucking liar you've ever seen and heard in your life.
