Pudge and I just are slowly recovering after hosting an Aikido of Noe Valley dojo party at our house last night! It was fun to hang out with everyone outside of class and to eat wonderful, healthy food. The beer, wine, and sake selections were sweet as well. For me, it was all overshadowed by the vegan chocolate cake. So much yummy chocolateness in every bite!
A couple really cool things about the party included the huge age range between the newly born and those born way back in the day. Second, everyone was in great spirits, likely due to the adrenaline from the testing and the fact that it was Friday night in beautiful SF.
I didn't test yesterday but was able to participate in three tests (I did Paul's entire 4th kyu test, half of Amelia's 3rd kyu test, and half of Amanda's 1st kyu test). After watching Amanda, I am even more motivated to start training for my next test. Watching a small 14 year-old Hapa girl slam grown men into the floor is pretty amazing.
I'll upload pictures soon. For now, Pudge and I are enjoying the morning sunshine on the balcony. I only have a few hours to recover before I'm off to Milbrae (a far away southern city) to see Alvaro!
