I recently received this e-mail
from a friend of Sandy Pukel's telling me that The Miami Herald had
written about Sandy's book release. I've ordered MY copy!
"Sandy Pukel, who owned Oak Feed health food store in Coconut
Grove (Miami, Florida) for 35 years, co-authored Grains and Greens On The Deep Blue Sea Cookbook. It's a collection of recipes from
the vegetarian cruises he has hosted for four years.
Pukel, 61, wrote the book with chef Mark Hanna, 50, whom he
brings aboard for the annual Holistic Holiday at Sea cruises. Among the recipes:
scallion pancakes with sesame-garlic sauce; black bean soup with lime; seitan
(wheat meat) stroganoff with tofu sour cream; shiitake mushroom risotto with
peas and kombu (seaweed) chips; simmered collard greens; and coconut oat
cookies."
I've been waiting for this cookbook and I've been hearing about his great cruise for four years from numerous friends, particularly the Woods (Bill & Marie from Maine), who rave about it!They're connoisseurs of good food (healthy) and travel. And I'm a Sandy Pukel fan as well!
