A doctor who isnt in bed with the supplement industry?

In the Times today Dr Mark Porter has written an article about the supplement industry (worth some £400m in the UK alone).
Dr Mark Porter: The five vitamins you should be taking
Here's what I had to say about it
I agree with the comment by Mark William. Finally a more realistic article on the subject of vitamin supplements. Having studied the theory of human nutrition and then worked with the reality of helping people to improve their diet and health (in my role as a weight management coach) I have no doubt that we are actually still a long way from fully understanding the complex way in which vitamins, minerals and in fact all nutrients, benefit our health. It isn't an exact science. What I am certain of are the benefits of deriving what your body needs from food wherever possible, and as Mark has said - certainly from natural sources rather than man-mad lab compounds. Taking on and speaking out against multimillion dollar industries such as the diet industry and the supplement industry is tough. Thank goodness people finally are. Chantal Denny-Harrow
