“You Push The Button, We Do The Rest”

Posted Feb 07 2012 3:00pm

The post title is a quote from George Eastman of Eastman Kodak fame.

I thought it was appropriate for today’s post: button. I was originally going to scour my closet for the most creative looking jean fastener or cardigan closer I owned, but then I realized there is another button that is much more important to my everyday life.

This button is one of my favorites because it allows me to share beautiful moments with all of you.

In my nearly four years of blogging – a statistic that I find impossible to believe – I have learned so much about myself. I’ve developed and grown as a student, a working professional, a business owner, a writer, a cook, a baker (mainly that I struggle with this one…), a daughter, a sister, a friend, a girlfriend, a fiancée and now, a wife. But what I often overlook is my title of “photographer,” as well.

I tend to leave that title to the professionals and to those bloggers who have managed to turn a hobby into a true talent. Although I am proud of every picture I post, I don’t consider myself either of those. I’ve still got a lot to learn! That said, I am working on it, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to share pieces of my life with you, both through words and imagery.

As my former photojournalism professor, Candice Cusic , has wisely said:

“I blend. Document. Search for moments. Every day.”

Our lives are full of these moments. And that one little button helps us capture them forever.

“You push the button, we do the rest.”

Abrazos,
