You train hard but you see no results. You follow meal plans but you see no results. You exercise regularly but you see no results. There are a lot of reasons why you are not getting the outcome you always wanted. Today, I will be focusing on several bad eating habits that prevent you from achieving your goal in the world of fitness.

Most of you who just started to workout may not know that having bad eating habits actually makes losing weight much more difficult. Of course, those wanting to build muscles will also find that the development rate of the muscles too slow. Now, how do we actually know whether we are having bad eating habits?

Don’t worry, let us now take a look at several bad eating habits that you may have and definitely should remove:

1) Skipping Breakfast
I have mentioned this earlier in one of my post, ‘Are You Skipping Your Breakfast?’ and I feel the need to emphasize on this once again. Breakfast is a must! Even if you are having a heavy breakfast, you will have all day to burn the calories. That is why I mentioned “eat like a king”. Skipping breakfast also makes you feel hungrier throughout the rest of the day thus causing you to eat more.

2) Eating Before You Sleep
Now, how many of you have this bad eating habit? I must admit, I used to indulge in food during the night before I sleep. After a long term, I soon realised my tummy was grewing bigger and bigger. Stupid me? If you have the habit of eating before going to bed, I hope you are not having any plans of losing weight. When you are sleeping, your body does not burn much calories.

3) Where Are Your Vegetables?
This tend to happen to those newbies starting out in workout. They get so excited about bulking up and soon, meat, meat and meat was top on their must-eat list. But where are the vegetables? Vegetables are rich in fiber and vitamins so it is always wise to include them in a meal. Lets not get too obsessed with bulking up shall we?

4) Eating a lot before exercising
I’m sure not a lot of you have this bad eating habit but I’m just listing it down in case you are planning on doing it. If you exercise after have a huge meal, chances are that you might feel sluggish or maybe even a stomachache might occur. Oh my god I didn’t that! Well, now you do! Why would you want your digestive system and muscles to compete for energy resources?

5) Frequency Of Eating
If you frequent Yahoo Answers often, you would have probably seen me saying, “eat 6 meals a day”. I always recommend people to have 6 meals a day because not much people knows that it actually increases metabolism. Other than that, it also reduces the chance that you will feel hungry compared to having 3 meals a day where the time between each meal is so long. But do take note that I am not asking you to have 6 HUGE meals a day. Think of it as your usual 3 meals being spreaded out to 6 meals in a day.

6) I Eat What I See
This normally only occurs to those wanting to bulk real fast. They normally get too obsessed with bulking up that they forget what actually is good or junk food. What these people do is that they WILL eat anything to help put on some mass. Do take note that bulking up doesn’t mean eating everything. We should always be including high quality food in our meals. If you want to look ripped, eating a lot of junk food to bulk won’t help.

7) Choosing Protein Over Fats
Because of the hype on protein, people tend to neglect the fats. Yes, protein is important in muscle growth and repair but fats and carbohydrates are the ones that provide fuel for your muscles during workouts. Still, you must be able to differentiate between good/bad fat. You can refer to my post, ‘Does Fat Really Make Us Fat?’ to understand which fat you should include in your meal.
