3 Tips to Fit Fitness in Your Schedule from Fitness Expert J.J. Virgin

Posted May 10 2010 12:00am
Jj-xiser-150 People often say that they just don’t have time to fit a workout into their schedule.

Acclaimed fitness and nutrition expert J.J. Virgin—who appears Wednesday at 2 pm EST on my Gab With the Gurus Radio Show —says you can fitness into your busy day.

JJ Virgin—the author of the new book, Six Weeks to Sleeveless and Sexy —kindly offered you 3 tips so you can make time to work out. Or better yet, she figured out a way for you to fit fitness in wherever you can.
  1. "Set your phone or timer to go off on the hour, and take an energizing 60-second burst break using a jump rope, a nearby flight of stairs or an X-iser, which is my favorite no-excuses burst trainer. A 60-second burst break will crank your metabolism and boost fat burning. (To learn more about an X-iser, join me on my Gab with the Gurus Radio Show Wednesday. http://tinyurl.com/FitnessSecretsJJVirginGabGurus
  2. "Roll and go…this is why I love to work out at home. You can roll out of bed in your jammies and head into your home gym to whip up 10-20 minutes of resistance training exercises.  Be sure to warm up for a few minutes before you start lifting to get your blood flowing.
  3. "Multi-task pre-dinner.  Okay, so you are cooking (or like me mostly assembling), but let’s face it, there are still some time gaps here and there when things are steaming, sautéing or defrosting.  Use that time to throw in your bursts, do some squats or power up some push-ups.
Remember… it all counts!"

JJ is a wealth of great information. Listen to this eye-opening program she did, “ Is Your Cardio Workout Making You Age Faster, Gain Fat and Lose Your Sex Drive?
