10 Reasons to Eat MORE Fruits & Veggies and GIVEAWAY Announcement

Posted Sep 23 2010 12:47pm
My post Parsley: The Forgotten Superfood has been my most popular post on my blog. It got me thinking. Did you know that there is no actual medical definition for the word superfood ? Because of this you will notice savvy people using the term “ nutrient-dense “, which refers to nutrient/calorie ratio. But my personal feeling is that there is a reason to include every fruit or vegetable in your diet because they all have have their own wondrous nutritional content and benefits. I have decided to do a series of posts along this theme to highlight some of my favorites and in honor of September being National Fruits & Veggies–More Matters Month .

Let me be clear by saying that this isn’t a series about “nutrient-dense foods” or “superfoods” or even “top health foods”. I am just trying to give attention to some of the many, many great plants out there for eating! I will also be hosting a giveaway soon of a copy of 5 a Day: The Better Health Cookbook; Savor the Flavor of Fruits and Vegetables by Dr. Elizabeth Pivonka RD PhD :
