Winter Play Dough Painting

White play dough is probably my  favorite homemade play dough recipe, so we make it quite often. In the winter, it can also be used as a base for play dough paintings .

I took a snapshot of what we did this morning and it looks very simple, but you can be monstrously creative with this idea. Double up the play dough recipe, dye the second half of the dough light blue, add sprinkles, stick an actual mini carrot on a snowman, make him  a cardboard hat, add some people, give them play dough clothes: the opportunities are multiple. Today, I wanted to see what my kids could do alone ( I ended up helping with the bunny, because of the serious whining that started when I first refused.)

You need: a batch or two of white play dough , paper, crayons, sprinkles, sparkles, snowflakes, pieces of foil, marshmallows, cotton balls and other decorations.

Try handprint snowflakes , too.
