This weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Whole Foods Market Living Naturally Fair at the Whole Foods Robson Street location in Vancouver. This was such a great event with some really awesome vendors. Rhys and I were able to enjoy some great food at the chef’s stage. We watched chef Calvin Rammson vs Claire Smith as they used seasonal produce to create a couple great dishes. We sipped on two different wines paired specifically with these dishes, as well, which of course I highly enjoyed
Chef Claire Smith made a braised cabbage dish with apple cider vinegar, sauerkraut, and caraway seeds. I loved the flavours in this one!
Chef Calvin made a comforting green lentil stew with honeycrisp apples. Both dishes were awesome, but Rhys and I both leaned slightly towards the cabbage when it came time to vote.
Afterwards, we wandered around the fair which was set up kind of like a farmer’s market. There was beautiful produce, and plenty of samples from companies like Vega , Blue Monkey , Daiya (new cream cheese spread- say whaaa!?), and lots of smaller companies that I was so glad to hear of. We tried some great gluten free goodies from Wendel’s True Foods !
