Baked pears with rompope sauce

Last holiday season I wrote about rompope , Mexican eggnog with rum created by nuns from Puebla in the 19th century. I’ve made a couple of things using it, including some delicious cookies that everybody loved. This weekend I bought some pears at the street market by my parents’ house and was looking for recipes online to make a dessert with them. I found some delicious recipes that just by looking at them made me want to lick my monitor. Unfortunately I didn’t have the ingredients for many of them so I decided to bake them following this recipe .

It was very simple to make, but not less delicious. My family loved them and they were the perfect dessert after the pumpkin mole enchiladas we had just had. I made some changes to the recipe, changing the almonds for pecans and adding the rompope to the honey. If you are looking for a simple and delicious recipe to prepare pears, look no further. Baked Pears with Rompope sauce

The ingredients:

  • 3 pears, cut lengthwise and core removed
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/8 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 cup unsalted butter cubed at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup rompope
