Hi there! Happy Wednesday! I love that it’s already Wednesday and I’ve only been at work since yesterday. It’s nice having Monday off. It should be an every week thing. That way each work week would go by quickly. I don’t want to wish the week away but I am so tired and could use time to catch up on my sleep. I woke up this morning with a sore/scratchy throat, runny nose and a slight cough. Ugh! I was trying my hardest to avoid getting sick. I’m hoping that this is just allergies and that it will clear up on its own. I think it’s because our house was so freezing last night. The temperature said in the 50′s! Our heat doesn’t heat up our condo. It’s awful. Mike and I sit with layers upon layers on at night. I wrap myself in my pink snuggie and plant myself in front of the space heater. It’s awful. I wish our heat would work or that the weather would get warmer. I’m hoping that I am just dealing with allergies. I think I’m going to try to have some vitamin C later on. It’s enough I’m dealing with stomach issues, and now this on top of it. I can’t win.
Anyway, for dinner last night, we had leftover chicken that I made in the crockpot on Sunday. There is a ton of it left so rather than bore you with pictures of chicken, I’ll spare you. I did have a sweet potato last night and for some reason it was flavorless. I normally love sweet potatoes and this one had absolutely no flavor. I’m not sure why but I was disappointed by it. Maybe I didn’t put enough Earth Balance on it? I’m not sure. I should have sprinkled some cinnamon on it. That probably would have given it some flavor. Maybe I’ll try that tonight.
Let’s get to my favorite part of Wednesday! Wedding Talk Wednesday! I’m glad that I still have topics to discuss. I’m hoping and praying that I can continue this up until our wedding day in August. As we get closer to the wedding, I’m sure I’ll have more things specifically about our wedding to share with you. After our wedding, I will definitely do recaps of everything and discuss websites, and vendors that I used for everything for our day.
Today, I want to discuss our Save the Dates. I have hired an incredible graphic designer to design our invitations, and various stationary and signage for our wedding. I fell in love instantly with her work and it is exactly what I was thinking of in my head. I know she will do a phenomenal job. I was planning on using her for our Save the Dates. I contacted her and she was completely booked up. I was just able to place an order for our wedding stuff but if I wanted Save the Dates from her, I would have had to wait until March. I had a goal of getting ours sent around February 17th because that is 6 months exactly until our wedding. Since our wedding is on a Friday, I wanted to give people enough notice to put in to take off on that day or make plans to leave work a little early. I just wanted to give people enough notice before we send out the actual invitations. It’s better to be prepared.
I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted our Save the Dates to be. I wanted to try to find a design that looked similar to what the graphic designer’s work looks like. So that everything would look cohesive. We kept going back and forth about magnets, postcards, or a photo card. The more I kept thinking about things, the more I didn’t like the idea of a magnet. I didn’t like the idea of a postcard either. So we decided on a photo card. I was very happy with our decision to do the photo card. Once we knew what type of card we wanted, I started exploring websites.
I kept going back to Wedding Paper Divas for some reason. I just loved their designs. I kept monitoring the pricing and waiting to see if any sales were going to happen. Finally, I noticed they were having a 40% off sale on Save the Dates! This is huge! It took off SO much money! We ended up spending way less than what I thought we were going to. I was even able to rush the delivery of them and we still ended up paying less than what I thought. They even ended up arriving a day early. I would highly recommend Wedding Paper Divas. It was great dealing with them. We had no issues at all.
So without further adieu, here is our Save the Date!

Back of Save the Date. It's the design that is on the front of the card.
We are extremely happy with how they turned out! We have been getting a lot of compliments on them too which makes me feel good because I worked hard on them. It also took me a long time to hand address all of them. So I am very pleased with how they turned out. I think they look romantic and whimsical which is the look that I was going for. That is our favorite engagement picture, so we definitely had to use it.
What kind of Save the Dates do you want when you get married? If you are married, what kind of Save the Dates did you send out? Magnets, postcard or photo card or something else unique?
I hope you enjoyed viewing our Save the Date! Have a great Wednesday!
