Hi there! Happy Wednesday to you! I hope your week is going well so far. I’m happy because I’m off from work tomorrow and then my work has an early dismissal on Friday. Then I don’t have to be back until Tuesday and then I’m off again next Wednesday. I’m looking forward to having these two days off. I do have things to get done but I will manage to have fun and relax while doing so.
This humidity is out of control right now. I don’t mind heat, it’s just the humidity I cannot take. Last summer, my hair was very long because I was growing it out for the summer. Now, my hair is much shorter and it’s really starting to frizz and become massive when it’s hot out. I’m hoping that some salons will be running specials on keratin treatments because I’d like to try one and see how it works. I don’t know if I’ll be able to deal with my hair like this the entire summer! My hair is naturally very curly and wavy as you could probably see from our honeymoon pictures. I would wear it like that all the time but after it dries, it again becomes very frizzy. I can’t win with my hair! Have any tips for frizz or know of any salons in the Philly area running good deals on keratin treatments?
Moving on to a new topic, I have to say in our home, Mike is definitely the grill master. I am okay with a grill but I prefer to cook and bake indoors. Mike is really good with the grill. We haven’t used our outdoor grill yet this season. We’ve been using our grill pan. This is the grill pan that we have:
As you can probably tell from by the orange handle, it is a Rachael Ray grill pan . We both love this pan! It was a really great investment. We usually put it over two burners on our stove so that it heats the pan evenly. If you do it over one burner, it’s not going to heat the pan evenly since it’s so wide and big. It’s pretty easy to clean too. Mike has been using steel wool lately to clean some of our pans and they work like a charm! It can be kind of abrasive, so be careful.
Mike made turkey burgers for us again last night. We have been liking turkey burgers lately and had them for the past two weeks. Ground turkey is a lot healthier than ground beef and I have been staying away from beef for the past year and a half. I like it, but it bothers my stomach and I just think the whole practice of how they kill cows is inhumane. Will I ever eat beef again? I don’t know. I haven’t decided. I know that I will not be eating steak or anything like that again but a burger? I’m not sure.
Mike seasoned the ground turkey with salt, pepper, Organic ketchup, mustard, garlic powder and onion powder and then formed them into four patties. We stored the two extra in the refrigerator and will be enjoying them tonight. He added cheese to mine.
My burger (it’s really only two slices of cheese but Mike ripped it making it look like a ton of cheese so it would melt evenly)
I roasted some string beans and mushrooms in cooking spray and garlic salt. Our favorite kind of garlic salt is this one:
It has to be this particular type of Garlic salt with the parsley or I don’t like it. I’m particular about my spices. I also roasted some Yukon gold potato wedges and seasoned them with Red Robin seasoning. What is your favorite way to season vegetables or potatoes?

I loved dinner last night! I really love turkey burgers and how they taste on the grill. I can’t wait to use our outdoor grill. I’d love to grill some chicken and vegetables. Yum! What is your favorite thing to grill?
