Tortilla Chips with Salsa

Tortilla Chips with Salsa
Ingredients
For the Tortilla Chips:
1 cup maize flour
1 cup refined flour (
maida
)
1/2 cup milk
Salt to taste
5 tablespoon butter
Oil for frying
For the Salsa:
500 g ripe tomatoes, blanched
4 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
1 tablespoon green chillies,
deseeded
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
2 tablespoon tomato ketchup
Method
For the Tortilla Chips:
Mix maize flour and
maida
flour with salt.
Add softened unsalted butter or ghee so that the mixture becomes flaky. Then add milk and water ( only if required ) to make a semi solid dough.
Divide the dough into equal portions and shape each of them like a
roti
( approximately seven inches in diameter ).
Half cook these on a
tawa
and cool. Cut the
rotis
into eight pieces so as to get triangular wedges.
Deep fry. Cool and store the wedges in an airtight container.
To prepare the Salsa:
Chop the blanched tomatoes and mix the chopped
de
- seeded green chillies, coriander and rest of the ingredients. Fold in the tomato ketchup.
Serve the salsa in a small bowl with tortilla chips.
