Thanks to Leite's Culinaria site I found out today is Crêpe's Day. My first memories of making them was when I was about my tween's age and I learned how to make them with my GrandMother.
Shame on me for not knowing that after living for over 4 years in Geneva where I enjoyed amazing crêpes! As the story goes in France, crêpes are traditionally served on Candlemas (La Chandeleur) every February 2nd. This was the original Virgin Mary's Blessing Day then as time went on became known as the offering of the crêpes.
Not that anyone ever would need a reason to eat such an amazing thing. Crêpes can be eaten as a dessert, a snack, appetizer or as a main course. There are quite a few recipes for them, but due to the fact that today IS the day to eat them I will be making crêpes with berries melted chocolate and whipped cream. I never measured the amounts I use as I have always done the batter by eye. Therefore once all said and done I will add the recipe to the blog! Meanwhile enjoy the ones from Leite's Culinaria!
