Today I've got a little clean eating knowledge to pass along! This week has been tough! In the past I have used food as something to make me feel better and this week I fell back into my old habits - much to my dismay. A close friend of mine recently passed away and I am finding it very hard to deal with. I have been in shock for most of the week and sort of just going through the motions of my life. You know, going to work, going to school, making dinner and eating lots and lots of sweets! Sweets have always been my go to comfort food and this week I should have taken out stock in sugar because I am pretty sure I have eaten the equivalent of one whole bag of granulated sugar with all of the candy, cakes and such that I have eaten.
Now how does this relate to snacking you might be asking yourself... well here's the tie-in! There is of course a healthy way to snack and to satisfy your sweet tooth if you are a sweet lover like me. I generally turn to fruit when I need my sweet tooth satisfied. Some of my favorites are - grapes, oranges, and granny smith apples. You can also check out organic candies like Yummy Earth Lollipops . I also think that it is super important to make sure you drink tons of water - I usually drink about 10 8oz. glasses of water a day that way when I feel hungry I know its that I am hungry and NOT because I'm thirsty.
