'Tis the season for healthy recipes

Before you through up your hands and give up on eating healthy until January, why not try some healthy recipes.

I swear by my Cooking Light magazine. While there are a few traditional holiday dishes that I won't try to change(like my homemade bread) others I don't mind lightening up a bit.

If you'll mix the healthy dishes with the old staples you'll find yourself with less remorse come New Years and can save that resolution for something else.

Also, I think when you do make light versions of things, be selective who you tell. Of course, there will be those at the celebrations who are watching their diets -- THEY will appreciate you. Still, there are those who believe that any lightening of ingredients must mean dulling of flavor. Those fine friends might have to be kept in the dark! Just make sure that your ingredient substitutes aren't just chemicals.
