Hey, peeps!
Our house currently smells like pork-heaven, thanks to this bad boy that’s been cooking away for a few hours:

Honestly, neither of us is excited at all for the actual
game- as soon as our friends
Jah and
Bruce were out of the running (both of their teams made it to the final four!) for the Super Bowl, we lost all enthusiasm for picking a team to root for. But, we’ll take any excuse to make great food (recipes soon to come!) and have people over, so we will be joined shortly by our friends Ashley, Mike, Austin and Laura. This morning started with a 3-mile run, followed by breakfast at Einstein’s.

A repeat of Wednesday’s breakfast- toasted whole wheat bagel thin with lox, tomatoes, and capers. We went to Publix to pick up what we needed for today’s feast. My husband is a sample-hound any time he comes with me to the store, and today was no exception. I was talking to him at the deli counter, turned my head for .3 seconds, and this is what I saw when I turned back around:

He was already halfway through a cheeseburger! (Which was delicious, by the way).
Friday:Friday night began with dinner and drinks with a group of girlfriends at
Dexter’s .

Mimosas for all- except me- I had Chardonnay. And for dinner, my absolute favorite salad in the world- Dexter’s Rustic Skillet Salad, with shrimp added to it.

We met the boys and some other friends downtown after dinner and had a fun night.
Saturday: It was a lazy morning, which is always the case after a late night. Some of us slept later than others

.
Hangover eats:

Fried egg on
Food for Life Rice Almond Bread with melted cheddar and nutritional yeast, with chicken sausage.

Green Day smoothie (almond milk, banana, flax oil, spirulina) from Whole Foods.

Romaine, tomato, roasted red pepper, hummus, feta wrap.We spent the day with Austin and Laura, vegging on the couch watching movies. Later, we went to see Chronicle, which was an awesome movie.Gotta go check on the pork! Hope everyone has a fun night!
What are your Super Bowl plans? Are you making any delicious recipes?
