Stubb’s Legendary BBQ Review & Giveaway!!!!….

Posted Jun 12 2013 7:01am

Hi there!  Happy Wednesday to you!!  I hope your week is going well.  We made to the middle of the week and the weekend is near!  I’m so glad about that.  I could use some relaxation time.  I’m very excited for today’s blog post!  I think you will be too because it includes a giveaway and who doesn’t like a giveaway?!  I know I do!!  This is a good one too!

I was contacted by Stubb’s to try out some of their products and offer a review on my blog.  I jumped at the chance because I’ve heard of Stubb’s before but I’ve actually never tried any of their products.  Stubb’s was started in 1968 when C.B. Stubblefield, “Stubb,” started his first restaurant in Lubbock, Texas.  Over the course of his life, Stubb perfected the art of barbecue, including making the sauces, marinades and rubs that today bring legendary Texas flavor to homes everywhere.

Stubb’s products are all-natural, certified gluten-free and contain no high fructose corn syrup, yet retain their deep-rooted, authentic Texas tastes and barbecue cook-off credibility.  They off a great way for people to add flavor and interest to sandwiches, burgers, and grilled meats, fish and veggies, while avoiding the fat, calories or artificial flavors, sweeteners, colors or preservatives often found on the condiment aisle.  Stubb’s actually created an interesting guide to the condiment aisle that you can find here .

On their website, you can find a list of the product offerings that they have such as Bar-B-Q Sauces, Marinades, and Rubs.  They also have a section for recipes so you can figure out what you’d like to try making with each particular sauce, marinade or rub.

I was given the opportunity to select some items that I wanted to try.  Since I have eliminated beef from my diet and I don’t eat pork, I selected all items that could be used on chicken, fish, or vegetables.

Texas Butter Injectable

This true Texas blend boasts the perfect amount of heat mixed with butter, mustard, onion, garlic and spices.

Original BBQ Sauce

Original BBQ Sauce

This is Stubb’s original sauce that he created.  I contains tangy tomato, vinegar, molasses and black pepper.

Chicken Marinade

Chicken Marinade

This sauce is a blend of citrus, onion and garlic.

I couldn’t wait to try out these items!  So I decided to partially follow a recipe I found on their site for Citrus Chicken!  I listed my changes below.

Citrus Chicken from Stubb’s website

Ingredients:

4-5 chicken breasts

Stubb’s Chicken Marinade

1 orange

Stubb’s Moppin’ Sauce

Directions:

Fill dish with Stubb’s Chicken Marinade and the juice of one large orange. Marinate chicken breasts in it for 1 hour up to overnight.

Place chicken on grill over direct heat, mopping with Stubb’s Moppin’ Sauce while cooking. Grill 5-10 minutes on each side until fully cooked (the internal temperature should be 165 degrees).

I let my chicken marinate overnight and let me start off by saying that I am not the grillmaster in the house.  I will leave that to Mike from now on.  I prefer cooking indoors and he can do the grilling.  I tried though!

I really enjoyed the chicken!  The smells that were coming off of the grill were fantastic!  There was a lot of citrus flavor and the chicken stayed nice and moist from the Moppin’ Sauce.  The sauce was not overpowering at all.  It just gave it that extra punch of flavor that sometimes chicken needs.  I couldn’t get over how great it smelled.  I really enjoyed the marinade, the Moppin’ sauce and the spice rub!  I am looking forward to trying out the other sauces that I got.  I already see crockpot bbq pulled chicken in my future with that bbq sauce!

Thank you Stubb’s for allowing me to try your great products!  I love that they are all natural and are gluten-free.  I am always looking for ways to incorporate healthy and natural ingredients into my cooking and now I can do it safely with these sauces, marinades and rubs.

Have you ever tried Stubb’s?  Which products would you most want to try?  Now here is your chance to try it out!
