Still A Question Mark…

Posted Nov 08 2012 6:57am

Hi there!  Happy Thursday!  I apologize for not posting as much lately.  I really promise to get back into the swing of things and finally finish recapping our wedding and move onto our honeymoon.  Things have just been really hectic lately and I will most definitely get back to my old ways of blogging today and tomorrow and maybe I will check in on the weekend as well.  I hope you are having a good week and I hope the snow didn’t do too much impact to you.  We got snow but it wasn’t as much as I thought we were going to get.  The news channels kept saying we were going to get over 3 inches and I don’t even think there was an inch out there.  That was fine though.  It made driving into work this morning easy which is something that I like.  I was nervous that it was going to be icy.  I need to prepare myself for this winter and finally purchase a pair of snow boots and a heavy winter coat.  I usually wear a peacoat everyday and that doesn’t hold up too well in the snow.  I also don’t like ruining my Uggs in the snow.  So I need snow boots.  Next items on my list of things to purchase for the winter.

Anyway, let me get back to recapping what happened these last couple of days.  On Monday, I left work early to go home to prep for the two tests that I had to go for the endoscopy and colonoscopy.  Melissa was able to come over and keep me company.  We watched The Vow which I saw in movie theaters and Melissa never saw.  I liked it when I saw it in the movies but I think watching it for a second time made me like it even more.  I was glad that she was there to keep my company while I was doing the awful prep.  I was pretty much sickly the rest of the night and through the morning.  Mike was able to take off from work to take me to the test on Tuesday morning.  They gave me a very early appointment which I was glad about.

I made myself a nervous wreck though.  My heart rate was going through the roof.  I have a lot of anxiety about being put under.  I’m sure a lot of other people might feel the same way.  I was so incredibly nervous.  When they brought me back, they put oxygen in my nose and they also put it going through my mouth because of how high my heart rate was.  I told you I was nervous.  Before I knew it, I woke up and I saw Mike sitting next to me.  I really felt terrible and I was incredibly tired.  The doctor came in and was a complete jerk!  It was like he did a 180 from the time that I met him until now.  He didn’t even introduce himself to Mike or say anything to him!  I left there feeling so confused and I still have a massive question mark over my head.  None of my questions were answered and nothing was said.  He kept snapping at me every time I asked a question.  They took biopsies so I have an appointment scheduled next week to discuss the findings of them.  Hopefully I have answers.  I still have an appointment scheduled with one of the top gastro doctors in Philadelphia in January.  I was going to cancel the appointment but I’m glad that I didn’t.  From the looks of it, I think I might need to go see him for another opinion.  I will not stop until I get answers.  I refuse to keep walking around in severe pain.

When we left the procedures, we went home so I could rest for a little bit.  Then we decided to go to IHop for breakfast.  I still didn’t feel that great but I wanted to get some food in my system.  I ordered scrambled eggs, with homefries and pumpkin pancakes.

Eggs and homefries

Pumpkin Pancakes

I ended up bringing the pumpkin pancakes home and eating them for breakfast yesterday.  They actually weren’t that great.  I think it’s because I was spoiled with the pumpkin pancakes I had when we were in Antigua for our honeymoon.  Those pancakes were fantastic and I think I am going to keep comparing all pancakes to them until I have them again.  I will discuss those once I get to our honeymoon recaps which will be soon, I promise!  What are you favorite types of pancakes?  I like pumpkin, chocolate chip, banana, blueberry and strawberry.

Once we were done there, we went to vote and then went home.  I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to recuperate.  Once I finally woke up we starting watching a marathon of Breaking Amish.  We are now both obsessed with the show.  I have always taken an interest in Amish culture and it’s such an interesting show!  Have you watched Breaking Amish?  It makes me want to go back and visit Lancaster so badly!  I think we might go back sometime soon because I want to pick up that amazing apple butter that I tried.

We decided to get Boston Market for dinner since we had coupons and because I wanted comfort food.

Chicken soup

1/2 chicken and mashed potatoes

The soup is really good there.  If you haven’t had it before you should try it!  There are huge chunks of chicken in the soup.  I love it.

Yesterday, I went back to work and I still wasn’t feeling that great.  My throat is a tiny bit sore and my stomach of course is bothering me and something happened to my eye.  I could barely see out of my contacts which is why I am now wearing my glasses.  Ugh.  So frustrating!  I hate wearing my glasses out in public let alone wearing them to work.  Oh well.  For dinner last night, Mike and I wanted soup.  So we decided to try a new .

Ricotta & Lobster Ravioli in a Seafood Bisque

My bowl of soup

String beans, mushrooms and a slice of garlic toast on the side

We both loved the soup!  It tasted like a lobster bisque!  I am always so impressed by those meal soups.  I would like to create my own meal soup from scratch.  They are just so good!  They fill you up too and it’s the perfect amount for two people.  We both love them.

Now here we are almost approaching the weekend!  Yay!  I cannot wait to sleep!  I will be back tomorrow with quite possibly my last wedding recap.  That makes me sad but then I will be moving onto our honeymoon!  Wahoo!

Have a great Thursday!
