Six Months Married & Rest Of Weekend!..

Posted Feb 19 2013 6:49am

Hi there!  Happy Tuesday to you!  I apologize for not posting yesterday.  My work was closed and I just wasn’t in the mood to update.  So here I am today on Tuesday and I am updating finally.  I hope your week is off to a good start.  Mine is rather stressful much has the weekend was too.  I’m hoping for a less stressful week but we will see.  I hope all of you had a good weekend.  What did you do this weekend?

I’ll start with recapping Friday.  On Friday after work, Mike and I went over to his parents house to visit.  We decided to order food for dinner.  I ordered a chicken pesto panini.  Mike, his mom, and I all got panini sandwiches and all three of us were extremely disappointed in them.  The pesto was not good and the chicken wasn’t cooked right.  It was a disappointing sandwich.  I didn’t even bother taking a picture.  I was so disappointed because I was in the mood for a good panini.  Oh well.  I’ll have to make my own.  At least that way, I know what exactly is going into it and going into making it.  We spent some time there catching up and then we ventured home.

On Saturday, we had a busy day.  We are trying to figure out our living situation for the next year since our lease is going to be up in June.  We are expecting to receive renewal documents next month and we really don’t want to sign for another year.  We also don’t want to rent anymore.  So we are trying to figure out if we are able to afford to buy a house or if we can live month to month where we are for the time being.  It’s a stressful process.  We are both trying to figure out what is best for us right now and to look at the long-term, the future.  So we will see where life takes us.  Hopefully we will have an idea somewhat soon.  I’m getting nervous.

We decided to go to Red Robin for dinner.  I went with my usual item that I order from there, a turkey burger.

We spent the rest of the night just hanging around the house catching up on some tv.  We were both so exhausted that we actually went to bed quite early that night.  We are party pooper’s.

On Sunday, it was six months of us being married!  I seriously cannot believe it has been six months already.  Time really does fly by so quickly.  It’s unbelievable.  It’s crazy to think in another six months we will have been married for a year.  I just really can’t believe it.  All of the time you spend planning for a wedding and stressing over it, before you know it, it’s done.  Then you are married for six months.  It’s just crazy to me.  We were planning on going out to dinner to celebrate but we were both tired and had already spent money the night before for dinner.  So we stayed in.

We opened a bottle of wine, started up a fire in our fireplace and made rigatoni with chicken and alfredo sauce for dinner.

Once we were done dinner, we put on our wedding video to watch.  We didn’t watch our entire ceremony but we watched the majority of the video.  It still gives me chills watching the video and I still get all of those emotions that I felt on our wedding day.  I don’t think I could ever get tired of watching it.  It was just perfect in that moment, sitting next to Mike by the fire knowing that six months ago in that exact moment of us watching ourselves on the video, we were actually living it.  It’s just so weird to me.  It really made me feel blessed and happy when I was watching the video.  I couldn’t have asked for a better day.  I look forward to the next six months of marriage.

Yesterday, I spent some time in the morning straightening up the house and getting coupons together.  Once I was finished,  I went over to Melissa and my mom’s house.  We had a fun day planned!  I was very excited to see them.  I haven’t been over lately and it’s totally my fault.  I’ve been not feeling good lately and just haven’t felt like doing much.  I don’t know why.  I need to get over there more and see Melissa more.  I miss it so much.

We first got lunch at Wegmans, which was fabulous as always!  I am always so overwhelmed there and never know what to get.  I usually get the same foods that I know won’t bother my stomach.  So it’s comforting to me.  It’s cheaper than the Whole Foods hot bar so that is a good thing.  I think my mom enjoyed eating at Wegmans too.  It was nice to have her join in with us.  We ran some errands the rest of the afternoon and then ventured to ShopRite so I could get some food shopping done.  I ended up saving almost $40 at the supermarket! I went $10 under my budget so I was very happy.  I got a TON of food for $29!!!  Not a bad deal if you ask me.  I’m telling you, it pays to coupon.  I really need to do that couponing post with Melissa.

After hanging out together, I went home and Mike and I got started on dinner.  On the menu for the evening was Cheeseburger Quesadillas, only with ground turkey as I don’t eat beef.  This was a huge success and I am going to post the recipe tomorrow!  This is a good one folks! I promise you.  I was inspired by Rachael Ray and she does not steer me wrong!  I have made so many Rachael Ray recipes and they are always successful.

Well that is all I have for today.  Have a great Tuesday!
